Octagonal Raised Bed with Pond

We decided to build a pond as our "Plague Project" during C19 Lockdown but, as one of our family has a phobia of frogs, a typical ground level version was not suitable. We looked at several stand-alone ponds but in the end decided on something partially sunken for depth but raised with an overhanging topping to keep unwanted creatures out. While a liner would have been easier to fit we wanted the strength of a pre-formed pond shape. The Woodblox system was perfect for our needs and after careful appraisal of various shapes constructed of bamboo and string, we chose the octagon as the ideal shape for the particular space we had to fill.

Excellent product with very comprehensive assembly instructions. They can be assembled in a matter of hours and we have also fully lined the beds with weed retardant matting as it is the only way to overcome our bindweed problems in the garden. The raised beds are really just what we wanted and have been purchased to replace a long herbaceous border, very pleased with our puchases.

We are deeply sorry for the problems you have encountered using Woodblocx.
The rough quality timber is made that way to keep it looking as authentic as possible to enhance the final design. Depending on the design, or by request we sand down sections of the Woodblocx. This is very common with benches and seating designs.
We are sorry you had trouble with the instructions you received. The basic instructions included are there to simplify the building process of how to connect the blocks and insert the dowels. We use these instructions on all of our designs regardless of the shape or complexity of the build. The colour key along with the layer by layer instructions should match all designs that we process as they are all generated from the same CAD design.
Sorry again for any confusion this process may have created.
